At Tannum Fitness Centre we have a range of activities for children, teenagers and adults.

Rock Climbing at Tannum Fitness CentreFit Kids

The essential goals of Fit Kids are to improve children's general and cardiovascular fitness, gross motor skills, confidence, co-ordination, flexibility and wellness.

  • Children need to meet the following criteria:
  • They must want to get or keep fit
  • They must be aged between 5 and 15 years
  • They want to work alone or with others, but not have to belong to a team to do it
  • They want to have fun on the way to fulfilling their needs and achieving their aims

Play Gym

Play Gym is a creative mix of learning, fitness, positive parenting and fun, and initiates a teamwork and fitness-fun background.  Our program is designed in keeping with the play-to-learn philosophy, to develop coordination skills, agility, flexibility, and music and rhythm appreciation, whilst making learning and exercise fun.

Our extensive range of equipment is colourful and kid-size, especially suited to a young child’s developmental needs.  

  • Class activities include:
  • Basic tumbling skills
  • Balance, flexibility, agility and rhythm development
  • Appreciation of music, movement and fitness
  • Group activities
  • Games and physical activity.

Fit Kids and Play Gym at Tannum Fitness CentreThe Play Gym area can also be hired for kid’s parties or group activities.  A jumping castle is also available for use in the Play Gym area.

Birthday Parties -  Any weekend, or any weekday during school vacations. Maximum age is 5 years. Minimum of 10 children.  A supervisor can be provided for parties and groups to help with activities, if required.

Suspension training

Suspension Training at Tannum Fitness CentreSuspension training is an approach to fitness training that uses a system of ropes and webbing called a "suspension trainer" to allow the user to work against their own body weight.  Suspension training is a type of bodyweight exercise in which a variety of multi-planar, compound exercise movements can be performed. These are done with the aim of developing strength, balance, flexibility, and joint stability simultaneously.  Suspension training can be considered a type of resistance training.  It is slower-paced, and yet you get an amazing workout. Instead of just jumping around a lot, you're really targeting areas and isolating muscle groups.  The intensity of the exercises is easily adjusted by changing the body position or by adjusting the strapping anchor position. In some cases, the TRX system can assist you in doing an exercise more easily. Should you choose to do a more advanced workout, you'll definitely be challenged. And you'll feel muscles you never knew you had.

Sauna 

Our infrared sauna is the latest technology, and allows users to enjoy the benefits of regular infrared sauna use.  Infrared saunas offer many health and beauty benefits and provide relief for numerous illnesses including, chronic fatigue, arthritis and much more.  Other benefits of regular infrared sauna usage include detoxification, lowered blood pressure, improved circulation, weight loss, skin purification and relaxation.
Personal sauna  available 7 days. Bookings essential.

Squash

We have one squash court available for hire, seven days and nights.  Bookings are essential.  Squash rackets are also available for hire.  Racketball and Rebound Volleyball can also be played on the squash court, and equipment for these activities is also available for hire.
