People have many
questions when they are considering getting into shape after years of
not working out regularly. Enjoy reading some of the questions we get
asked most often here at Tannum Fitness Centre. Please reach out to
our friendly team if you have other queries. We are here to help you
get in the best shape of your life and make a lot of new friends
along the way!
What type of gym
memberships do you offer?
We offer casual visits
(pay per visit), 10 visits, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and 3, 6 and 12 month
Do you offer
concessional rates of membership?
We offer standard,
student/pensioner and couple/mates rates.
Do you charge joining
or cancellation fees?
We do not have joining
or cancellation fees, as we believe this type of fee is unjustified.
Do you cater for
people who work away regularly and so can only come to the gym for part of
Over the years we have
had several clients who regularly work away, and we offer them extensions to
their membership - for example, they may be home for 2 weeks and away for 2-4
weeks, so we allow them to take a 1-3 month membership to be used over, say 2-6
months. So someone may take a 6 month
membership and have 12 months in which to use it. We work with the client to ensure the deal is
fair and reasonable for both parties.
What do we do to book
a Rock Climbing party?
Determine what date
you want to have the function and give us a call. (We allow 1 hour extra for parties of 10 or
What is included in
the cost for a party?
The charge includes
the venue and necessary activity equipment only, but you can provide the food
and drinks that you want. What time you
have the party depends on what you want to provide, and how much you want to
spend - eg morning or afternoon snack, sausage sizzle or fast-food lunch or
early dinner. This arrangement makes it very economical for you as we don't
have to charge GST on catering services, and don't have to add extra charges
for having to install a compliant preparation area and pay annual fees and licenses
for these facilities. We can heat food or keep it warm, and have limited facilities for cold or frozen food. We're always willing to help where we can - just ask. The covered deck
and barbeque are generally offered free to groups of 10 or more.
Are there minimum or maximum numbers for a booking for an
activity or party?
There are no minimum
numbers for most activity bookings. We do
offer discounts to certain groups, and the amount of discount varies with the
size and type of group. For larger
groups, a variety of up to 4 activities can be undertaken - eg groups of 30
could be split into 2, and time split between say, rock climbing and the SmartWall,
with groups changing activities at set times.
(Total time allowed depends on group size.)
